Scope Of Practice

Hypnotherapy is a form of psychological support. My role is to provide a thoughtful, collaborative space in which we can explore emotional experiences, patterns, behaviours, personal history and the relationship between mind and body.

I am a certified hypnotherapist, not a doctor, psychologist or psychiatrist. I do not diagnose physical or mental-health conditions, prescribe or alter medication, or provide medical treatment.

You are welcome to work with me while living with a diagnosed physical or mental-health condition. You do not need to separate that condition from the rest of your experience or leave any part of yourself at the door. Our work will focus on you as a whole person and on the experiences, patterns or goals for which you are seeking support, rather than medically treating the diagnosis itself.

Hypnotherapy may be used independently or alongside care from other professionals. Questions about diagnosis, medication or changes to medical treatment should be discussed with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

During the free consultation, we will discuss what you are looking for and whether my training and approach are appropriate for your needs. If your needs fall outside my professional competence, I will be open with you and may recommend seeking support from another suitably qualified professional.

My practice is not an emergency or crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please contact the local emergency services or an appropriate crisis service.
